Car Fire on Penn Green Road

On Saturday February 27th, 2010 at 1122 hours the Avondale Fire Company was dispatched for a vehicle fire in the 900 block of Penn Green Road.  Deputy 23 (Cole Jr.) responded at 1123 hours and was advised by Chester County Fire radio of a Chevy Blazer well involved.  Assistant 24 arrived at 1124 hours confirming the Blazer well off.  Deputy 23 arrived on scene at 1125 hours and established Command 23.  Rescue 23 went en-route with a crew of 8 at 1124 hours. Prior to the Rescue’s arrival Command 23 advised the Rescue to take the drive-way and pull a 1-3/4” hand line to begin fire suppression (FF Raubfogel and FF McDonnell).  The incident was placed under control at 1132 hours. Final units cleared at 1210 hours.
