Date: February 8th, 2009
By: Firefighter John Morris IV

The past few weeks Avondale Fire Company has relocated stations all over the county. On Wednesday, January 28, Tanker 23 with firefighters Howell, Nowland, and Raubfogle traveled to Westwood Fire Company to cover their district while their Assistant Chief Chester A. Taylor was laid to rest. While on standby at 44 the Tanker Crew ran a Furnace Malfunction and a reported Building Fire which turned out to be a small fire in a dryer.

On Friday, February 6, Engine 23-3 traveled to Station 37 (Modena) to cover their first due while they were operating at a Mobile Home Fire. While on standby the Engine Crew ran two calls, a trash fire and an auto accident.

On Saturday, February 7, Engine 23-1 traveled to Station 24 ( Kennett) to cover their first due while they were participating in a live burn session at the West Chester Fire Training Center. Crews watched movies and played basketball to kill time. The engine didn't run any calls and helped 24 put their apparatus back in service upon their return.
