A Special Thanks To Our Standby Companies

Date: March 15, 2009
By: Chief Hoseman Kenny Reed

The officers and members of the Avondale Fire Company would like to send a very sincere thank you to the officers and members of East Whiteland Fire Company from Chester County and Gordonville Fire Company from Lancaster County. In the early morning hours of March 15 the members of the two stations we called to cover our "local" while our company assisted New Castle County Station 19 (Hockessin) on a hay bale fire on McGovern Road. Upon our return to Avondale the standby crews helped pack our 5" hose used at the fire scene back onto Eng. 23-2 and 23-3. After getting the trucks ready for service once again the crews posed for a few pictures and then headed back home for some well deserved rest. Once again thank you very much to the members of the two companies for all your help.

Units: Lancaster County Tanker 4-3-1 (Gordonville), Chester County Eng. 5-5 (East Whiteland)
