My Fox Phillies "Firehouse Friday" Comes to Avondale!

........On Friday, May 15, Avondale Fire Company was privileged to be part of Good Day Philadelphia's (Fox 29 News) morning broadcast. Jamie Shupak the Traffic Reporter from Fox 29 came to the "23 House" to host "Firehouse Friday" and showcase our company through short segments on the news broadcast. Due to the fact that Avondale is the TRUE mushroom capital of the world Jamie incorporated a few short segments on Mushrooms, their benefit, and some history behind them. However, the mushroom's, and green fire trucks didn't steal the show: Past EMS Supervisor and current member Rob Linnenbaugh's 4 year old daughter Paige held the spot light. After informing Jamie that Paige's birthday would be on the 16th she decided to ask Paige on live television what she wanted for her birthday. " For my birthday I want a DECK!" she declared. With live television came some unforgettable laughs and as Lionville Fire Company stated: Some true DVR moments! Skycare 1 also stopped by for their quick shot in front of the camera.
...... Deerfield Catering donated an outstanding breakfast to the large base of members that turned out for the broadcast.
