Company Assist Station 22 on Chimney Fire

On Wednesday, January 28, at 1243 hours Avondale Fire Company was alerted for an engine with Station 22 (West Grove Fire Company) for a Chimney fire in the 400 block of Auburn Road.  Lieutenant 22 (Sweeney) arrived shortly after the dispatch advising smoke in the dwelling from the chimney, and established "Command 22".   Engine 23-1 made the response at 1247 hours under the command of Deputy 23 (Cole) with a crew of 6. Chief 23 (Swift) arrived shortly after and established "C.P. 22" per the command. Engine 22 arrived, crews checked the chimney and determined a working fire with-in the chimney.  Crews also checked the area for any extensions. Engine 23-1 arrived on the scene and crews assisted with chimney chain drops to remove the debris on fire. Once the chimney was cleaned out, Command placed fire under control.  Companies cleared the incident at 1318 hours.
