Head on accident on Baltimore Pike

On September 11th, 2009 at 1801 hours the Avondale fire company was alerted for an auto accident on Baltimore Pike in the area of Penn Green Road. Moments later Ambulance 23-2, Engine 23-3, and Squad 23 were all enroute. When the ambulance arrived on scene they had found a two vehicle accident with patients still in one car, and the other car had been abandoned. After further investigation of the patient’s conditions the EMT’s on Ambulance 23-2 had requested two more ambulances and a medic. When engine 23-3 arrived on scene the crews stabilized the car, and checked both vehicles for hazards. When the squad arrived on scene their orders were to help with patient care. Two patients were transported to Jennersville Regional Hospital. Company was available at 1836 hours.
