Auto Accident With Entrapment on Route 7

On Monday, May 18, Avondale units were dispatched to Southwood Road and Route 7 for an auto accident. Moments later fire board upgraded the assignment to an auto accident with entrapment adding Medic 94 (Sccems) and NCC Rescue 19 (Hockessin). Lieutenant 23B (Bessicks) was in the area and arrived first on scene confirming the report of entrapment. Chief 23 arrived on scene and assumed command. Engine 23-3 arrived and quickly began extrication of the patient by removing the passenger door to gain access. NCC Rescue 19 arrived just in time to help with patient packaging. Crews cleared the scene some time later.
