On December 29, 2010 at 15:32 Hours, Stations 23, 22 and 12 were dispatched for an outbuilding in the 200 Block of Goodhope Road. The outbuilding was an attached 50×20 workshop with a propane heating tank inside. Lieutenant 23A (DiJoseph) went on location with smoke showing from both Alpha and Bravo sides.

On December 11, 2010 The Avondale Fire Company held their annual Christmas Party. Pennsylvania State Representative Chris Ross attended and awarded Chief Engineer Rich Testa a Citation for 50 Years of active service to The Avondale Fire Company. Also in attendance was more of the Testa family in support of Rich Testa.

On Thursday December 2, 2010 starting at 06:56 Hours, Station 23 was alerted for an auto accident on Kaolin Road west of Hartefeld Drive in New Garden Township. Ambulance 23-1 and Chief 23 (Decker) went enroute within minutes but were soon advised by PD on scene that there were no injuries and no need for fire or ambulance services.

On November 20th, 2010 at 1728 hours, The Avondale Fire Company along with Medic 94 was alerted for an auto accident at the intersection of Newark Road and Broad Run Road. Shortly after dispatch Lieutenant 23A (DiJoseph) arrived on scene with 3 vehicles involved, one versus a pole. Deputy 23 (Cole) arrived on scene and established Newark road CP.

In May of 2010 the chief officer’s established a committee to research the purchase of a new traffic unit. After months of looking at surrounding traffic units, meetings, and hard work; the committee finalized the quotes, and approached the company in November for the final approval. On Tuesday November 9th, 2010 the membership voted to move on with the purchase of the unit.
